ESRO Academy is your gateway to comprehensive learning and knowledge resources designed to complement ESRO's core activities. Our academy offers an array of teaching and learning programs, training and capacity-building initiatives, as well as advisory and consultancy services to clients worldwide. Through ESRO Academy, we foster close collaborations with academic and research institutions, governments, and the private sector from across the globe. Our aim is to enhance institutional capabilities and capacities, empowering them to make informed decisions and achieve their transformation plans.

ESRO Academy collaborates with the Middle Eastern Knowledge Economy Institute (MEKEI) and the International Diaspora Project (SK) on a multidisciplinary platform. Together with our global partners, we work towards assisting institutions and individuals in their various transformation endeavors. As a leading association dedicated to sustainable development and the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ESRO Academy is designed to equip our clients with the knowledge and skills they need to progress towards their SD targets and goals.

The Challenge of Sustainable Development

Since the Rio summit in 1992, sustainable development has evolved into a major concern for both developed and developing countries (DCs). However, translating the principles of sustainable development into effective economic and environmental policies remains a formidable challenge for nations. In the post-Covid-19 era, characterized by a global race for skills and knowledge, universities cannot overlook their natural and ascribed roles. They serve as strategic agents for national development, contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Agenda 2030 and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Universities must respond to rapidly evolving realities in a diverse, complex, and fast-changing world. The status quo is insufficient. Universities must pivot to become more responsive to their mission of developing graduates who, in addition to conventional training, are equipped to support their countries in realizing the Agenda 2030 and its SDGs.
